Sincerely, Filing Period: The City of Euclid, Division of Police will accept applications for this position between Monday, 07/27/2009 until Monday, 08/28/2009 at 4pm est. Salary: $53,400 - $59,675 Position: Police Officer 3rd Class, you will perform police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Police Officers may work weekends, overtime, holidays, and variable shifts. Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of TWO years of full time peace officer/deputy patrol duty experience. An applicant cannot be separated from a law enforcement agency for more than 12 months at the time of application. Residence: Euclid residency is NOT required for application or continued employment. The applicant will be required to live within 1 hour of the City of Euclid municipal center (585 East 222nd Street, Euclid Ohio 44123) after appointment. Evaluation: Applicants will be evaluated on their prior performance history and experience as a peace/police officer. Once a candidate is hired by the City of Euclid, any mandatory post employment training will be completed and then the candidate will be assigned to the Training Division for field training. All candidates serve a one year probationary period before permanent status is granted to 1st Class Patrol Officer. Qualified applicants will be
sent a background packet to be completed and returned. Qualified
applicants will be called or contacted for an interview. Successful
applicants can expect to undergo an extensive background investigation,
polygraph examination, medical, psychological evaluation, and certified
physical agility test (accepted Physical Agility Test is offered by
